AT ANASTASIS STUDENTS BECOME AGENTS OF THEIR OWN LEARNING.
At Anastasis Academy we begin and end with the student. Above all else, we value the identity of each of our students. That is why we have developed a Learner Profile Process to begin each school year, two days where we meet one-on-one with each student. We do this so the teacher can truly get to know every student. The students then interact with Learning Genome card sets to identify their learning style preferences, multiple intelligence strengths, and their brain dominance preferences. We listen to their stories, learn about who they are, their experiences, values, and habits of mind to better understand who they are. The resulting Learner Profile is the starting point for students to become authors of their own learning journey, co-creating learning with teachers as mentors, experts, and guides.

Children develop at different rates and in ways that are unique to them. Just as children don’t all walk, talk, or lose their teeth at precisely the same time, we recognize that learning won’t always occur on the same day or in a predetermined manner. By meeting each of our students where they are at and allowing them to learn and develop at their own rate, we minimize the risk of gaps and take away the ceiling in learning. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, our teachers craft learning experiences for the students based on their Learner Profile. Our Learner-Centered approach supports and challenges each student. Students receive real-time purposeful feedback daily so that they can be challenged to excel to their full potential.

At Anastasis, we know that no boxed curriculum will ever be able to meet the unique cognitive, social-emotional, physical and creative developments of a child. The boxed curricula and siloed subjects that most schools utilize are simply too narrow in scope to address the needs of unique individuals. Anastasis students are immersed in a distinct learning culture built on encouragement, positive relationships, and a challenging, Living Curriculum through inquiry. The Anastasis inquiry-based approach creates connections across disciplines, revealing the interconnected nature of learning and life. Children experience hands-on learning where experimentation, depth, creativity, and curious wonder are nurtured.
