COVID-19
COVID-19 Response
Welcome to our COVID-19 response page, this is the page we never expected we'd have to create. We know a pandemic wasn't part of your school plans either.

Below, you'll find critical information about how Anastasis is responding to the risk of COVID infection.

We are a community that cares for one another. Our priority is to make sure that all staff, students, and families are safe.

Please check back regularly, as we will share the most up-to-date information here as conditions change.

Return to School In-Person Learning
We are excited to welcome our community back for in-person learning!

May we not see the world through the printed headlines.
Instead, may we see the world through the people who surround us, with the realization that we love big. That we look out for our community as an act of love. We choose to write our own headlines, "Colorado school community looks out for one another. Does life together. Builds the Kingdom together."

May we recognize that we are in this together. May we extend grace and flexibility. May we see that our strength is in community, working together, taking care of each other, and loving fully, the proof in our actions.

Anastasis has always valued the power of outdoor learning. This year we will be spending more time outside. Please make sure your child dresses in layers appropriate for the weather and wears sunscreen daily!

*To report an absence, please email office@anastasisacademy.us, and your child's teacher. Be sure to include any symptoms they are experiencing. Anastasis is required to report all confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 to Tri-County Health Deparment.
Best Practices From Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Colorado Department of Educatin
1. Vaccinations for those who are eligible.
CDC and CDHPE recommend everyone who is eligible get a COVID-19 vaccine. Those with underlying health conditions are more likely to experience severe health impacts such as hospitalization or death from COVID-19 and are strongly advised to get vaccinated. Those who are unable to be vaccinated should continue practicing a layered approach to prevent COVID-19 using the additional strategies below.
2. Masking
As of December 31, 2021, Tri-County updated their Public Health Order requiring masks for all schools within the Tri-County boundaries for 2 - 11-year-olds, and their teachers while indoors.
What this means for Anastasis Students:
-
All students will need to wear a face-covering during Metanoia in the mornings since this is a whole community event.
-
Students who are 5-11 years old need to wear a mask in ALL indoor settings.
-
Students 12 and older, who are vaccinated are not required to wear masks indoors unless they are with younger students (Metanoia).
-
Students 12 and older who are not vaccinated should wear a mask indoors.
-
We have GREAT outdoor learning space for every class to utilize. When students are learning outdoors they will not need a mask.
-
Lunch and snack times remain as is.
Please note that masking is mandated for student transportation regardless of vaccination status. Please have a mask available for all field trips, learning excursions, and service trips.

3. Daily Symptom Screening
Please use the symptom checklist, or use our interactive quiz, to determine when your child should stay home. Any student diagnosed with COVID-19 or who is a close contact with a COVID-19 case should not go to school and should isolate or quarantine according to public health recommendations regardless of current symptoms.
If any of the following symptoms are present, keep the child at home, inform Anastasis Office of symptoms, and reach out to a health care provider about COVID-19 testing and next steps for treatment.
-
Feeling feverish, having chills, or temperature of 100.4*F or higher.
-
New or unexplained persistent cough.
-
Shortness of breath.
-
Difficulty Breathing.
-
Loss of taste or smell.
-
Fatigue.
-
Muscle aches.
-
Headache.
-
Sore throat.
-
Nausea or vomiting.
-
Diarrhea.
-
Runny nose or congestion.

If someone in your household has COVID-19, your child is considered a close contact the quarantine guidelines are different for vaccinated vs. unvaccinated individuals. Please use our interactive quiz to determine what to do next in your specific case. The family member with the positive case should Isolate from the rest of the family for 5 days following their onset of symptoms. If you choose not to isolate the family member with the positive case, the quarantine clock begins 10 days after the positive case.
Please notify Anastasis if your child needs to quarantine as we need to report this information to Tri-County Health.

4. Distancing
The recommended physical distance between students within classrooms is three feet, combined with indoor masking for students and staff. When this is not possible, it's especially important to layer prevention strategies such as masking. Anastasis will do its best to maintain physical distance throughout the day recognizing in a school setting with children, this distancing is not always possible to maintain. Masking is an additional safety measure when distancing is not maintained.
5. Hand Hygiene
Handwashing is one of the best infection prevention strategies to control the transmission of COVID-19 and many other infectious diseases. Students will wash their hands at a handwashing station upon entering the building and will be encouraged to wash and sanitize hands throughout the day.
